Situated less than 130 miles North of Sacramento on Interstate 5, Red Bluff is the gateway to North State outdoor recreation including fishing, boating camping and hiking. The Sacramento River, noted as a prime fishery for trout, steelhead and salmon, flows through downtown.
At 341 foot elevation, Red Bluff sits amidst rolling foothills and flat topped buttes with spectacular views of Mt. Lassen to the East, the Trinity Alps to the Northwest, and Mt. Shasta to the North. Lassen Volcanic National Park and Lake Shasta are only 45 miles away.
Red Bluff is the Tehama County seat, with a rural lifestyle and an economic base that includes Sierra Pacific Industries, Louisiana Pacific Corporation and a Wall Mart Distribution Center. With 17 public schools and 4 private schools including various charter school opportunities, parents are able to select the right setting for their children’s learning. The Shasta Community College District operates the Tehama County Learning Center in Red Bluff as an extension of its main campus in Redding with plans in motion to open a new Tehama College Center by 2008. Undergraduate and graduate opportunities are available in Chico at Chico State University and at Simpson University in Redding.
